Pricing
Last updated 17 September 2026
Two prices, both one-off. You pay once per return, just before it is filed, and there is no account, subscription or renewal. If HMRC rejects the return, nothing is filed and the payment is refunded automatically.
| Return | Price | What is filed |
|---|---|---|
| Dormant company | £5 | CT600 with iXBRL dormant accounts embedded, filed to HMRC. Optionally includes a balance sheet (cash at bank, creditors, share capital, profit and loss reserve) for a dormant company that holds money or traded in the past. |
| Small trading company | £15 | Full Company Tax Return: CT600, iXBRL micro-entity accounts and iXBRL tax computation, for a small company with one UK trade and a loss, exactly nil, or a profit up to the small profits limit (£50,000 for a 12-month period). Any Corporation Tax due is worked out at 19% after brought-forward losses and the annual investment allowance on equipment bought, shown before you pay, and paid to HMRC separately; the receipt states the amount and the deadline. |
| No trade, bank interest only | £15 | Full Company Tax Return for a company that did not trade but whose bank account paid interest: CT600, iXBRL micro-entity accounts and a tax computation charging the interest at the 19% small profits rate. The Corporation Tax itself is paid to HMRC separately; the receipt states the amount and the deadline. |
| Charity or sports club | £5 | Company Tax Return for a charity or registered community amateur sports club whose income and gains are all exempt from tax: the CT600 with supplementary page CT600E, the claim to exemption, and the accounts you already prepare attached as a PDF. HMRC requires no tax computation where CT600E confirms everything is exempt, and accepts PDF accounts from a charity with income under £6.5 million, which is why this costs £5 rather than £15. We file your accounts exactly as you supply them and do not check them. |
What every filing includes
- Company details autofilled from the Companies House register, and the accounting period Companies House is expecting offered for confirmation.
- A preview of the return and the accounts exactly as HMRC will receive them, with a PDF of the accounts to download.
- Submission to HMRC under your own Government Gateway sign-in, with a live log of HMRC's responses.
- An emailed receipt carrying HMRC's acceptance, its signed receipt digest and the return's IRmark, plus the accounts as a PDF, to keep with the company's records.
- Support from a person at support@dormantreturn.co.uk.
Refunds
- HMRC rejects the return: refunded automatically, usually back in your bank within five to ten working days. The rejection reasons are shown on screen so you can correct the details and file again.
- Government Gateway sign-in fails: nothing is consumed. The return stays paid and ready to file once the sign-in is corrected. After five failed attempts in a row we pause filing for 5 minutes and email you what to check. If it is still not filed 24 hours after payment, we refund.
- A fault on our side: refunded automatically and the operator is alerted.
- HMRC accepts the return: the filing is done and the fee is not refundable, in line with the terms.
How the price compares
HMRC's free filing service closed on 31 March 2026. General Corporation Tax software aimed at accountants and trading companies typically costs roughly £80 to £100 or more a year for features a dormant company never uses. A comparison of the routes now open, including using an accountant, is in the cheapest way to file a CT600.
Ready to file? Enter your company name, confirm the period, review the return and pay. About five minutes from start to HMRC's receipt.

Payment is taken by Stripe on a hosted checkout page; card details never reach our servers. Card statements show the name DORMANTRETURN. The email address you give at checkout is where the receipt is sent. Dormant Return does not file anything to Companies House, whose own dormant accounts and confirmation statement filings remain separate.
